NHOOD Portugal distinguished environmental certification “Commitment to Enhancement” from SAICA’s Group

Nhood Portugal was awarded with the seal “From Waste to Resources: Commitment to Recovery” by Saica Natur, the commercial division of the Saica Group specialised in waste management and environmental services. This seal, certified by the German multinational TÜV SÜD, attests that 95% or more of the waste generated by three of the shopping centers under Nhood Portugal’s management – Alegro Alfragide, Alegro Sintra and Alegro Setúbal – are recycled or recovered.

To reach this milestone, implement and maintain this circular economy model in the value chain, NHOOD needed to generate a correct separation of the waste in its different fractions at origin, carry out an active search for the best destinations for each waste stream and have the involvement and awareness of all the teams that developed the Zero Waste project in each of the three shopping centers.
