100% renewable energy Christmas lighting in the shopping centres managed by Nhood Portugal
This holiday season, Alegro shopping centres, managed by Nhood Portugal, have a plan to strengthen energy efficiency measures. In addition to the daily control of power consumption and the use of 100% renewable energy, the Christmas lights will only be switched on after 6 pm.
It’s a measure in line with Nhood’s history of environmental commitment and implementation of energy efficiency measures and with the recommendations of the government and regulatory agencies of the energy sector. It is expected to contribute to an effective reduction of 8% to 10% of energy consumption, in the portfolio, by the end of 2022.
Concerning energy efficiency, Nhood guarantees daily control of energy consumption in the shopping centres it manages – where the energy used comes 100% from renewable sources – through the best practices. Some examples: technical management of the operation, maintenance, control, and optimisation of the operating conditions of lighting, ventilation and air conditioning of the centres, and more.
